"I love Jan’s portrait of my dad. He has conveyed my dad’s personality to perfection, and his use of light and shade brings the portrait to life. It will be much treasured."

“I have now purchased two of Jan’s works he has a fantastic talent as a painter. His landscapes wonderfully evoke the beauty of the chiltern hills that I so love.”

James Cherry

Jan is available to take portrait or landscape commissions either as a pastel/charcoal drawing or an oil painting. Charcoal drawings start from £150, with pastels from £200, whilst oil paintings will start from £250 (head and shoulders). Prices will vary depending on the size of the artwork and the time spent creating it. Starting price will be for a single head & shoulders portrait. Prices do not include frames, any requirement for framing will be an extra.

Another option on offer is painting at special events such as weddings or parties. Jan will set up his easel during the event and try to capture the atmosphere. It is a unique way of celebrating an event and a memento to keep for future posterity.

Portraits can be done from sittings when working from life or from photographs, the image must be of high quality. When working from life, Jan usually requires six to ten sittings of about 1 1/2 hours to two hours. Jan prefers to start painting landscapes on-site and then working them up in the studio. The least expensive option for landscape would be painting a sketch on the day with no extra work in the studio.

To start this process please contact Jan using the form below or by email at nestorgaska@hotmail.com stating what you want doing and the preferred size. Once the details are agreed Jan will give a quote for the work. A deposit is required before any work begins. The deposit is a third of the agreed price for the artwork. The outstanding balance needs to be paid on completion.
